UPDATE: Kelowna RCMP investigating two suspicious deaths at Upper Mission home

Two people are dead and a third is in Kelowna hospital in critical condition after what RCMP are calling a "serious crime."

Officers were called to a home in the Upper Mission area of Kelowna around 9 p.m., June 8. Two people were dead and a third person was taken to hospital.

Kelowna RCMP spokesperson Const. Mike Della-Paolera told iNFOnews.ca said the person taken to hospital was in critical condition. He didn't know what their condition is today.

Someone inside the house called 911, where police and paramedics found two people dead inside when they arrived, according to a June 9 news release.

The investigation will be "highly complex and sensitive," according to RCMP. So far, police have not confirmed whether it is a homicide investigation, only calling their deaths suspicious.

The BC Coroners Service is conducting its own investigation into the two deaths.

Kelowna RCMP did not mention a third injured person or their current status in the June 9 news release.

Police issued a first news release last night after they were called to the Swan Drive home for a "serious crime."

No other details were provided, other than assurance there was no risk to public safety.

Const. Della-Paolera did not provide additional details but said RCMP are planning to hold a news conference later today.

It's not clear if anyone has been arrested.
