On top of the extreme heat warning, the Thompson-Okanagan is now under a severe thunderstorm watch as well.

Environment Canada says conditions are favourable for thunderstorms capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain in the Okanagan, South Thompson and Nicola regions.

The region is also under an extreme heat warning. Daytime temperatures are expected to reach 35 C through Sunday.
