Multi-vehicle crash closes Coquihalla Highway near summit

A multi-vehicle crash has closed the southbound lanes of the Coquihalla Highway south of the summit.

DriveBC says an assessment is underway at the crash location around three kilometres south of the Coquihalla Summit between the Great Bear Snowshed and the Zopkios Rest Area.

Expect major delays due to traffic congestion.

Detours are available via Highway 5A and Highway 3 and drivers are advised to watch for traffic control.

No word if anyone was injured in the crash or when the southbound lanes of Highway 5 will reopen.
