A lamb named Beau was rejected by its mother during its infancy, but a dog named Max was ready to step up and take the little lamb under its wing.

A video shared to Reddit starts with a heartbreaking shot of the young lamb getting shooed away by its mom.

But subsequent footage shows Max embracing Beau as his own by cleaning, protecting and playing with the young orphan.
