Vernon RCMP release image of suspect in business assault

Police have released an image of a suspect they believe assaulted an employee at a business in downtown Vernon almost a month ago.

Officers were called to a business in the 3400 block of 30 Avenue at around 4:20 p.m. Monday, July 17, for a report of an assault, according to an RCMP media release issued today, Aug. 15.

Police say an unknown man assaulted an employee inside the store.  The suspect got away before officers arrived.

RCMP don’t say what the nature of the assault was nor is the business identified.

“We’re hoping someone knows this person and will be able to help us put a name to a face,” Vernon RCMP spokesperson Const. Chris Terleski said in the release.

If you recognize the person you’re asked to contact Const. Derzak with the Vernon RCMP at 250-545-7171 and quote file 2023-12300.
