Kelowna RCMP ask: Have you lost your expensive dental equipment?

Kelowna RCMP have uncovered valuable dental equipment in an abandoned rental van.

On Aug. 14, at 4:30 a.m., Kelowna RCMP received a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the 2000 block of Harvey Avenue. The vehicle was discovered to be an abandoned rental van.

Inside the van, police found a large carrying case containing a "Procera Scanner Mod 50". This specialty piece of equipment is used in the dental industry and is very highly valued.

RCMP do not yet know the origin of the equipment or who stole it.

“This equipment is highly specialized and our online research indicates that it is also valuable. Whoever is missing it surely would want it back,” said Const. Mike Della-Paolera, of the Kelowna RCMP, in a press release statement.

Anyone who recognizes the equipment and is able to provide documentation of ownership, is asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300 and reference file number 2023-47850.
