RCMP looking for witnesses to Kelowna hit and run

KELOWNA – Police are hoping the driver who hit a pedestrian in a Kelowna crosswalk yesterday morning will do the right thing.

RCMP say at about 11:48 a.m., July 18, an older, blue sedan struck a pedestrian in the marked crosswalk in the intersection of Drysdale Boulevard and Kane Road in the Glenmore area.

The driver of the eastbound car was making a left turn from Drysdale onto Kane when the pedestrian was hit, according to a RCMP media release.

The blue sedan, which witnesses say had two younger men inside, was last seen driving south on Valley Road.

“Investigators are hopeful that the driver who was involved will do the right thing and contact investigators,” Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says in the release. “Drivers involved in collisions are reminded that they must remain at the scene, render reasonable assistance, and exchange particulars.”

Anyone who witnessed the collision or who has information regarding this matter can contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
