Man defecates in tub then goes to sleep during Kamloops break-in

Police are on the hunt for a man who broke into a Kamloops business and defecated in a bathtub before going to sleep.

Kamloops RCMP were called to the 11 Avenue business around 10:30 a.m., Oct. 21, but the man drove off in a stolen SUV before officers got to the scene, according to an RCMP news release.

He fled the room after an employee knocked on the door around 10 a.m., when he got in a blue Kia Sportage. The SUV, with BC licence plate number MX775W, was previously stolen out of Abbotsford.

It's not clear when the man is suspected to have broken into the suite.

The suspect is described as an Asian man in his 20s. He's 5'8" tall with a slim build, police said. He was wearing a light brown jacket or hoodie, dark brown pants and black running shoes with white soles.

Anyone with information can contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2023-38013.

— This story was corrected at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023, to clarify the business was located on 11 Avenue, not 11 Street as reported by RCMP.
