Theatre history, improvisation and local references in WCT Stage One play

KAMLOOPS – Western Canada Theatre’s Stage One Theatre School is proud to present Just Another Stage One Play, performed by this summer’s Performance Class.

A group of Stage One actors, who apparently have been abandoned by their director, have to fend for themselves opening night in front of an impatient audience. Their director has left them hanging, because no one has been showing up to rehearsals. And because no one has been showing up to rehearsals, no one is really quite sure what they are supposed to do.

Stage One’s funniest show to date, Just Another Stage One Play is not just another WCT Stage One play. While nearly every angle of a typical Stage One play is there, we also take the audience through a history of theatre, with improvisation and local references thrown into the mix!

WCT’s Stage One Theatre School’s two-week-long Performance Class gives young students the opportunity to showcase their skills on stage in a show produced for public audiences. Students learn the rehearsal process, characterization and stage presence, while having the fun, fantastic experience of bringing a script to life!

Place: TRU ACTORS WORKSHOP THEATRE at Thompson Rivers University in the OLD MAIN BUILDING

Admission: By donation to the Henry Vanderberghe Memorial Bursary Fund, which helps students in financial need with a strong interest in the arts attend Stage One Theatre School.
