Individuals arrested during Vernon pot raids have been let go

VERNON – Four people arrested earlier this week in a pair of coordinated police raids have been released from custody.

Two men and two women were detained Wednesday, July 20, after police used specialized shotguns to break down the doors and execute search warrants at two licensed grow-ops.

Police allege that while licensed, the grow-ops were being used to carry out drug trafficking operations. They are also investigating possible links to organized crime.

Cpl. Dan Moskaluk confirms the four people arrested were released from custody, but says the investigation is not over.

“Charges have not been formally laid,” he says.

The individuals include a 25-year-old woman, a 42-year-old woman, a 43-year-old man and a 44-year-old man.

One of the locations raided by police is the same property where a house was shot at last month while a child and adult were inside. Police have not commented on any further connections between the grow-operations and the shots fired incident.
