Islanders squeeze past Eagles with late push in QMJHL action

CHARLOTTETOWN – Cole Huckins scored the go-ahead goal with 54 seconds remaining in the third period and the Charlottetown Islanders topped the Cape Breton Eagles 4-2 on Tuesday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Simon Hughes, Giovanni Morneau and Michael Horth, with an empty-net goal, added the others for Charlottetown (10-10-0). Aksels Ozols made 30 saves.

Luke Patterson and Cam Squires replied for Cape Breton (11-11-0). Jakub Milota stopped 29-of-32 shots.
