
Applications open for Prime Minister’s Youth Council
KELOWNA – Stephen Fuhr, Member of Parliament for Kelowna-Lake Country is encouraging local young people between the ages of 16 and 24 to apply to be members of the Prime Minister’s Youth Council.
Applications are now open and can be found online.
Council Members will be selected in two cohorts:
• The deadline for the first wave of 15 council members is August 12th.
• The deadline for the second wave of 15 council members will be October 7th.
The Prime Minister, in his role as Minister of Youth, officially launched the Prime Minister’s Youth Council on Tuesday, July 19th. It will be a non-partisan body made of up to 30 young Canadians aged 16-24 who represent the regional, linguistic, and diverse composition of Canada.
“We have many smart, engaged young people with great ideas and viewpoints living in the Okanagan. I hope those in Kelowna-Lake Country will take advantage of this opportunity to engage directly with the Prime Minister and our government, and participate in shaping the future of our country,” said Mr. Fuhr.
