OHL roundup: Daviault scores twice as Otters beat Sting 5-2

ERIE, Pa. – Alexis Daviault scored twice, including the winner, as the Erie Otters beat the visiting Sarnia Sting 5-2 in Ontario Hockey League action at Erie Insurance Arena on Monday.

Sam Alfano, Owain Johnston (empty-netter) and Martin Misiak also scored for the Otters (19-16-4-0) who are fourth in the West Division. Dylan Edwards and Pano Fimis each chipped in with two assists.

Kai Schwindt scored both goals for the Sting (16-24-2-0), while Mitch Young and Marko Sikic had a pair of assists. The Sting are fourth in the Midwest Division.

The Otters outshot the visitors 38-18 in the lone game on the OHL schedule. The Sting went 2-for-5 on the power play, while the Otters were 1-for-6.

The teams were tied 1-1 after the first period and the Otters led 3-2 heading into the third.
