iN PHOTOS: Vernon Winter Carnival adjusts to lack of snow
The 64th annual Vernon Winter Carnival has been been a pretty much snowless event this year but that hasn't put a damper on the enthusiasm.
This is what the Carnival has looked like this past weekend for some of the big events including the parade. The snow sculpture competition pivoted due to the lack of snow and carved blocks of ice instead. The popular balloon glow event was moved out of Polson Park because the grass was too soggy.
The fresh snow falling today, Feb. 6, bodes well for reigniting the winter spirit for the carnival which continues until Sunday, Feb. 11.
These photos showcase the fun so far despite the unseasonable warm temperatures.
This year's carnival theme is games with themed events like comedy and drag shows, bingo, bachata classes, cocktail competitions, a pee-wee hockey tournament and kickball.
