First ever B.C. Day Band Blast offers free concerts in Vernon

VERNON – Up-and-coming artists will grace the stage at Polson Park for Vernon’s inaugural B.C. Day Band Blast show this holiday long weekend.

The free event will be held at the band shell in Polson Park Saturday, July 30.

According to the organizers, the purpose of the event is to give new musicians a chance to play for the public.

“The idea was formed last February as a result of many local artists not having many options to play original live music. The organizers of this show wanted to give local musicians an opportunity to play their music, sell their merchandise, and gain more exposure,” they say online.

This year’s artists include Rene Giasson, Jacob Soucy Quartet, The Kinky Pinks, Armonia, Sabrina Weeks & Swing Can Bounce, and Danaka & Shugarboy with Nation Party.

A number of vendors will also be on site during the event.
