Mexico victims’ agency condemns women being paraded naked
MEXICO CITY – Mexico’s Commission for Attention to Victims is condemning unidentified men who forced three women to walk naked through the streets of a Pacific coast town.
The commission said the three women were forced to walk through the town of Huatabampo in just shoes and socks, after they were allegedly caught stealing.
The commission said “this type of behaviour should be eradicated, and a culture of full respect for women should be promoted.”
Video of the night-time incident was posted on social media sites earlier this week. It appeared the women were being forced to walk by men on motorcycles.
The government of the northern border state of Sonora has not confirmed the details of the incident.
