VANCOUVER – A North Vancouver, B.C., lawyer has quit the profession for at least five years after admitting to professional misconduct.
The Law Society of British Columbia says it has accepted the admission from David Saito.
A release from the society also says Saito has agreed not to reapply for reinstatement for five years.
Saito was fired from the firm Wilcox and Company Law Corp., in March 2013 over improper expense claims.
The law society says Saito admits to seven allegations of professional misconduct ranging from improper expense claims to mingling his personal funds with the trust account of his former employer.
Saito stopped practising law after his employment was terminated in 2013 and ceased being a member of the law society in January of this year.
