Warm cloudy weather to continue through weekend in Kamloops, Okanagan

Double digit high temperatures didn’t materialize this week in Kamloops as forecast but could happen this weekend.

Environment Canada had called for a high of 10 Celsius for Wednesday but it only reached 6.1 C. That could rise to 11 C by Sunday in Kamloops.

A high of 6 C is forecast for today, Feb. 22, and Friday with a mix of sun and cloud. There is a 40-60% of showers starting Friday night through the weekend.

Overnight lows in Kamloops should be above freezing for the next few days but could drop as low as -9 C early next week.

Normal high temperatures for this time of year are 6 C with overnight lows of -3 C.

Highs in the Okanagan are forecast to be in the 7-8 C range through the weekend with overnight lows climbing to 5 C Sunday morning before dropping as low as -6 C next week.

There is also a chance of showers, starting at 40% Friday night and rising to 70% on Sunday.
