Police identity woman whose remains were found behind Toronto butcher shop
TORONTO – Police say they’ve identified the victim whose severed remains were found behind a Toronto butcher shop in mid-April.
Police also say they’ve charged a man with indignity to a dead body in connection with the case.
The remains, which police said were believed to be part of a human torso, were found in a garbage bag behind the store when an employee was taking out the trash on Tuesday morning.
The woman has been identified as 30-year-old Melissa Cooper, of Toronto.
Police say Albert Ian Ohab, 38, was charged with indignity to a dead body.
He appeared in court on Saturday, but it was not clear when he would next appear in court on the allegation against him.
