ANCHORAGE, Alaska – A 25-year-old woman suspected of kidnapping and sexually assaulting an 18-year-old driver who gave her a ride has turned herself in to police.
The Anchorage Daily News reports Nellie Serradell was arrested at a hotel and driven to a hospital for treatment of medical issues.
Online court documents do not list her attorney.
Police say Serradell stepped in front of a car driven by an 18-year-old woman Sunday morning and asked for a ride to work. At a mall parking lot, Serradell punched the teen, said she had a gun, sexually assaulted her.
Police say Serradell demanded money, threatened to kill the younger woman and ordered her to drive to another location.
The woman pulled into a gas station and escaped. Police say Serradell drove off in her car.
