Summer has arrived in the Okanagan, better late than never

OKANAGAN – The dry heat usually associated with summer in the Okanagan has arrived.

It looks like mother nature decided to change it up and Environment Canada finally has good news for outdoor enthusiasts, with temperatures forecast to break the 30 Celsius all weekend.

It starts today, Aug. 11, with an estimated high of around 30 Celsius.

Kelowna and Penticton should watch for brisk winds of around 20 kilometres per hour in the afternoon and evening.

On Friday, expect to see highs of about 31 C and overnight lows of 11 C.

Sunshine with highs around 33 C are forecast for Saturday and Sunday with overnight lows around 11 C.

The seasonal normals for this time of year are highs of 27 C and lows of 14 C.
