The Toronto Blue Jays have added pitcher Ryan Tepera to their post-season roster, in place of injured reliever Brett Cecil.
The 27-year-old Tepera appeared in 32 games for the Blue Jays in his rookie season over three separate stints with Toronto. He posted a 0-2 record with a 3.27 ERA, allowing just 23 hits in 33.0 innings.
Cecil tore his left calf muscle during Friday night’s 6-4 14-inning marathon loss that dropped the Jays to 0-2 on the series. The Jays’ top lefty in the pen, who could be done for the post-season, was injured while tagging Napoli in a rundown that ended the eighth inning.
Tepera was 3-1 in 21 relief appearances with Buffalo (AAA), with a 1.06 ERA.
