HAMILTON – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats acquired Canadian defensive back Mike Edem from the Montreal Alouettes for two draft picks Wednesday.
Hamilton and Montreal made the deal prior to the 4 p.m. ET trade deadline.
Montreal received a 2016 sixth-round pick and a conditional seventh-round selection in 2017.
Edem, 26, has appeared in four games this season with Montreal, registering three special-teams tackles.
The six-foot-one, 200-pound Edem has appeared in 39 career CFL games — including 16 starts — and three playoff contests over three seasons with Montreal.
Montreal selected Edem, a native of Lagos, Nigeria, who grew up in Brampton, Ont., in the first round, third overall, in the 2013 CFL draft out of the University of Calgary.
