EECO exhibit changing

KELOWNA – The Environmental Education Centre for the Okanagan is about to move from bees to fish.

The EECO located in Mission Creek Regional Park (Springfield and Durnin Roads) will be closed Monday, August 22nd through Thursday, August 25th as staff install the new ‘Kokanee’ exhibit.

Kokanee salmon are the land-locked cousins of the Sockeye. You’re invited to learn more about their importance as they make their annual spawning run against the flow of creeks and streams throughout the Okanagan and in some cases along the shoreline of Okanagan Lake.

The Environmental Education Centre for the Okanagan is open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and weekends from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

For more information visit the Regional District website regionaldistrict.com/parks or contact the EECO at 250-469-6140, email eeco@cord.bc.ca or drop into the Environmental Education Centre for the Okanagan in Mission Creek Regional Park, Springfield and Durnin Roads.
