COLUMBUS, Ohio – It appears John Tortorella is returning to the NHL.
Reports say the fiery coach has been hired by the Columbus Blue Jackets after the team fired Todd Richards.
The move comes after Columbus was shut out 4-0 on Tuesday night by the New York Islanders to drop its record to 0-7-0.
The 57-year-old Tortorella returns to the NHL after being fired by the Vancouver Canucks following the 2013-14 season. Reports say Vancouver will receive a draft pick as compensation.
Columbus is the only NHL team without a point this season.
