‘The Danish Girl’ author David Ebershoff steps down from executive position at Random House

NEW YORK, N.Y. – A top Random House executive is leaving his job to focus full time on his increasingly successful career as a novelist.

David Ebershoff’s “The Danish Girl” has been adapted into an upcoming feature film starring Eddie Redmayne. Ebershoff is leaving his position as vice-president and executive editor at Random House. The publishing company announced Wednesday he’ll depart next month.

Ebershoff has worked at Random House for 20 years. Two books he edited win Pulitzer Prizes in 2013: Adam Johnson’s “The Orphan Master’s Son” and Fredrik Logevall’s “Embers of War.” His other authors included Norman Mailer, “Cloud Atlas” novelist David Mitchell and actress Diane Keaton.

Ebershoff’s other novels include the bestselling “The 19th Wife” and “The Prodigies,” to be published by Random House in 2017.
