B2Gold Corp. (TSX:BTO). Miner. Down eight cents, or 4.85 per cent, to $1.57 on 9.5 million shares.
Niko Resources Ltd. (TSX:NKO). Oil and gas. Up four cents, or 36.36 per cent, to 15 cents on eight million shares.
First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (TSX:FM). Miner. Up 28 cents, or 3.89 per cent, to $7.48 on 7.3 million shares.
Yamana Gold Inc. (TSX:YRI). Miner. Up eight cents, or 2.56 per cent, to $3.20 on 4.8 million shares.
Teck Resources Ltd. (TSX:TCK.B). Miner. Down 43 cents, or 5.14 per cent, to $8.79 on 4.8 million shares. Teck Resources Ltd. reported a $2.1-billion loss for the third quarter on Thursday, but the Vancouver-based miner’s stockbeat analyst estimates on adjusted earnings. Teck, which has one of Canada’s largest mining and smelting operations, blamed the loss on a writedown of its coal assets to reflect lower expectations for commodity prices.
Suncor Energy Inc. (TSX:SU). Oil and gas. Up $1.09, or 2.94 per cent, to $38.11 on 4.5 million shares.

Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc. (TSX:VRX). Pharmaceutical. Down $10.16, or 6.59 per cent, to $144.05 on 2.3 million shares. Explosive but unproven allegations against Valeant have caught the eye of the regulator in Quebec and raised serious questions about the company’s business structure — even from its long-time supporters. The market value of Canada’s biggest publicly traded drug company has fallen more than $30 billion this week amid intense scrutiny of its business practices.
