NEW YORK, N.Y. – Fans of Mitch Albom’s books can soon sing along with Albom and such performers as Tony Bennett, Dionne Warwick and “The Voice” winner Sawyer Fredericks.
HarperCollins Publishers announced Friday that a musical companion to Albom’s upcoming novel “The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto” will come out through Republic Records on Nov. 6, four days ahead of the book’s release.
Arranged to complement Albom’s story of guitarist Frankie Presto and his journey through 20th-century music, the 17-song soundtrack combines original recordings sung by Fredericks, Mat Kearney and Albom himself among others, with such older tracks as Bennett’s “Lost in the Stars” and Warwick’s “A House is Not a Home.”
Pre-orders of the soundtrack will include an audio download of Albom reading from the book’s first two chapters.
