WHL Roundup: Dillon Dube has three points to lead Rockets over Cougars
KELOWNA, B.C. – Dillon Dube scored twice and added an assist as the Kelowna Rockets downed the Prince George Cougars 5-2 on Friday night in Western Hockey League action.
Nick Merkley, Justin Kirkland and Clavin Thurkauf had the other goals for the Rockets (8-4-0). Tyson Baillie chipped in with a pair of assists.
Brogan O’Brien and Jared Bethune provided the offence for Prince George (5-5-0), which had won its previous two games.
Michael Herringer made 29 saves for the win in net. Mack Shields turned aside 25 shots for the Cougars.
Kelowna scored once on seven power plays while Prince George was 0 for 5.

RAIDERS 7 WARRIORS 2
PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. — Simon Stransky had a goal and two assists as the Raiders routed Moose Jaw and won their fifth straight.
Jesse Lees, Brendan Guhle, Cal Babych, Austin Glover, Jordan Tkatch and Luke Coleman also scored for Prince Albert (9-2-1). Reid Gardiner tacked on three assists.
Jayden Halbgewachs and Dryden Hunt had goals for the Warriors (7-2-2), who had a three-game winning streak come to an end.

BLADES 4 ICE 3 (OT)
CRANBROOK, B.C. — Cameron Hebig had the winner in overtime to lead Saskatoon past the Ice.
Libor Hajek chipped in with a goal and two assists for the Blades (5-3-3) in regulation. Cameron Hausinger and Brycen Martin added the others.
Luke Philp, Zak Zborosky and Dylan Stewart found the back of the net for Kootenay (2-10-1).

RED DEER, Alta. — Presten Kopeck and Adam Musil scored in the second period as the Rebels topped Medicine Hat.
Grayson Pawlenchuk opened the scoring on the power play for Red Deer (9-4-0), which won its fourth straight.
Ty Stanton responded with a goal in the third period for the Tigers (4-5-1).
Medicine Hat’s Ryan Jevne was ejected at 11:38 of the first period after taking a major penalty for checking to the head.

HURRICANES 3 BRONCOS 2 (OT)
LETHBRIDGE, Alta. — Ryley Lindgren scored the winner 2:45 into overtime as the Hurricanes edged Swift Current.
Giorgio Estephan and Egor Babenko had goals in regulation for Lethbridge (7-2-0), which won its fifth in a row.
Jon Martin opened the scoring with his 13th of the season for the Broncos (4-6-2). Jake DeBrusk forced extra time with a short-handed goal late in the third period.

KAMLOOPS, B.C. — Jordy Stallard had the eventual winner as Calgary doubled up the Blazers.
Beck Malenstyn and Layne Bensmiller opened the scoring for the Hitmen (7-5-1). Radel Fazleev added an empty netter.
Jake Kryski and Jesse Zaharichuk supplied the offence for Kamloops (3-8-0).

KENNEWICK, Wash. — Rihards Bukarts had two goals and an assist as Brandon downed the Americans.
Jayce Hawryluk, Stelio Mattheos and John Quenneville rounded out the attack for the Wheat Kings (8-1-2).
Juuso Valimaki, Tyler Sandhu and Parker Bowles scored for Tri-City (4-6-1).

SPOKANE, Wash. — Kailer Yamamoto scored the winner early in the third period on the power play as the Chiefs snapped a six-game losing skid by edging Victoria.
Brother Keanu Yamamoto also found the back of the net for Spokane (4-5-2).
