UPDATE: B.C. Highway 1 now clear after collision

SORRENTO – Crews have cleared the wreckage from a collision that halted traffic on B.C. Highway 1. 

Unconfirmed reports say the collision was a two-car accident with two trapped with serious injuries in the backseat of a Volkswagen.

Drive B.C. confirms Highway 1 has been cleared after the crash closed both lanes. 

Dean Damm, Sorrento resident and witness described backed up traffic and an air ambulance on scene.
