
Kuznetsov, Markov and Quick named NHL’s three stars of the week
NEW YORK, N.Y. – Washington Capitals centre Evgeny Kuznetsov is the NHL’s first star of the week after scoring three goals and adding three assists over three games.
Kuznetsov’s best offensive performance came on Friday, when he had three goals and two assists in Washington’s 7-4 win over Edmonton.
He also had three assists in Washington’s 6-2 win over Calgary and assisted on Alex Ovechkin’s winning goal in the Capitals’ 3-2 victory over Vancouver.
Montreal Canadiens defenceman Andrei Markov is the second star with a goal and five assists in three games.
Los Angeles goaltender Jonathan Quick takes third-star honours after posting a 2-0-0 record with a 1.00 goals-against average, .971 save percentage and one shutout over the week.
