Strong wind grounds sailboat on Okanagan Lake in Kelowna

KELOWNA – Heavy winds have pushed a sailboat aground near Cedar Creek in Kelowna this afternoon.

The sailboat and passengers became stranded today, Aug. 31, around 50' from shore in front of the Cedar Avenue boat launch.

Kelowna witness Randy Millis says at least two people in life jackets were onboard when RCMP arrived.

RCMP and Kelowna Fire Department were unavailable to confirm.
