UPDATE: Neighbours use garden hoses to help put out Kamloops trailer fire

KAMLOOPS – Residents of a trailer park in Dallas jumped into action when they saw smoke billowing from a neighbour's house this afternoon.

Firefighters were called to the Kamview Heights RV Park around 3:45 p.m., Sept. 1. Neighbours were using gardens hoses in an effort to fight the flames.

The windows of the house had to be smashed in order to access the inside.

Crews were extra diligent in making sure no embers were left burning because of the strong winds.

"Our guys went inside and quickly put it out," Kamloops Fire Rescue Capt. Will Harlock says.

The homeowner is on vacation, so no one was inside the residence at the time.

Harlock says a cause will not be determined until fire investigators finish up at the scene, and the extent of damage to the inside of the home is not yet known.
