Nearly 2,000 customers lose power in Vernon area

VERNON – A large area of Vernon and Coldstream is without power this afternoon.

B.C. Hydro says power went off around 11:25 a.m., Sept. 2, for nearly 2,000 customers.

The area affected is south of Pottery Road, north of Cosens Bay Road, west of Buchanan Road and east of College Drive.

B.C. Hydro has crews on site and as of 12:30 p.m., was estimating power would be restored around 4:30 p.m.

The cause of the outage is believed to be equipment failure.
