2-time winner Dan Carter on 6-man shortlist for world rugby player of the year award

LONDON – Two-time winner Dan Carter is on the six-man shortlist for World Rugby’s player of the year award, along with New Zealand teammate Julian Savea and Australia flankers David Pocock and Michael Hooper.

Wales lock Alun Wyn Jones and Scotland scrumhalf and captain Greig Laidlaw complete the list for the award, which will be presented on Sunday.

The 33-year-old Carter won the accolade in 2005 and 2012, and is looking to complete the hat trick in his final year at test level. His last game for the All Blacks will be the Rugby World Cup final on Saturday.

Pocock and Savea have previously been nominated.
