B.C.’s forestry watchdog to audit five range tenures in Kamloops

THOMPSON – B.C.'s independent watchdog for sound forest and range practices will be auditing five range tenures for grazing cattle in the Thompson region.

The Forest Practices Board says in a release that auditors will examine range activities for compliance with the Forest and Range Practices Act.

The areas being audited range in size from 2,773 to 24,100 hectares and are located near Kamloops, Barriere, Cache Creek and Chase.

The audit work will take place next week and once it's completed a report will be prepared. Anyone affected by the audit findings will have a chance to respond.

The Forest Practices Board audits forest and range practices on public land, as well as appropriateness of government enforcement.
