Trevor Noah back at ‘Daily Show’ anchor desk Thursday after appendectomy the day before

NEW YORK, N.Y. – One day after an emergency appendectomy, Trevor Noah was expected back at his “Daily Show” anchor desk, taping a new episode set to air Thursday night. Comedy Central said Thursday that the “Daily Show” host was back at work, with actress Regina King as his scheduled guest.

Noah underwent the surgery Wednesday morning. A few hours later, the network said the procedure had gone well. A repeat episode of his show aired Wednesday night.

Noah took over as host of “The Daily Show” in September, succeeding Jon Stewart, who stepped down in August after 15 years.

“The Daily Show With Trevor Noah” airs weekdays at 11 p.m. Eastern
