
Crown moving forward with dangerous offender application against South Okanagan man
PENTICTON – The process to have a prolific offender declared a dangerous offender took a step forward in Penticton court today.
Crown Prosecutor Kurt Froehlich told court, Sept. 14, his office had received approval from the Attorney General’s office to proceed with an application to have Ronald Arthur Teneycke declared a dangerous offender.
Teneycke was arrested near Keremeos in mid-July 2015 after an intense manhunt in the South Okanagan. He has been in custody since his arrest.
Teneycke is charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, discharge of a firearm with intent to wound, and a long list of other offences including breaching a conditional jail sentence.
Judge Richard Hewson ordered the matter adjourned to Teneycke’s next scheduled court appearance on Sept. 19.
