Murder charges laid after man found bloodied, unconscious on Vancouver street
VANCOUVER – A woman has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with Vancouver’s 14th homicide of the year.
Police say a man was found early Friday morning lying on the ground near Station Street and National Avenue unconscious and covered in blood.
The 31-year-old man — who’s name has not been released — was rushed to hospital but died of his injuries.
Police believe the man was involved in a dispute with several individuals at a nearby rooming house, and was attacked on the street shortly after leaving.
Police says the attack appears to have been unprovoked and that the man did not appear to know his attacker.
A suspect, Sadie Taniskishayinew, 23, is in custody charged with second-degree murder, and is expected to appear in court on Tuesday to face the allegation.
