Officials ID truckers killed after icy interstate crashes

MISSOULA, Mont. – Authorities in western Montana have released the names of two commercial truck drivers who died after a series of collisions on icy Interstate 90.

Mineral County Deputy Coroner Al Allard said Thursday that 32-year-old Jatinderpal Singh of Delta, British Columbia, Canada, died when his semi crashed into other semis that had wrecked just east of Superior in the pre-dawn hours on Wednesday.

Another man, 30-year-old Vilyam Veresko of Moses Lake, Washington, died when he got out of his wrecked semi, jumped over a guardrail to avoid oncoming traffic and fell to his death.

A third truck driver was injured as was a Frenchtown Rural firefighter, who slipped on ice and fell off a bridge.
