Hamilton posts best lap in Brazilian GP practice; Mercedes teammate Rosberg 2nd

SAO PAULO – Lewis Hamilton posted the fastest practice time at the Brazilian Grand Prix on Friday morning, and Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg was second more than half a second.

Formula One champion Hamilton timed the best lap of 1 minute, 13.543 seconds, and Rosberg did 1:14:062.

Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel was third, and Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo fourth.

Brazilian drivers didn’t do well in front of their home crowd: Williams’ Felipe Massa was 17th, behind Sauber’s Felipe Nasr, 14th.

Hamilton won the championship at the U.S. Grand Prix last month.

Interlagos hosts the penultimate round of the season.
