Two pedestrians recovering from serious injuries after crash in Salmon Arm

SALMON ARM – Salmon Arm RCMP say two pedestrians are recovering in hospital after a crash on the Trans Canada and 30 Street yesterday.

Police say in a media release they were called to the intersection around 4:30 p.m., Sept. 29.

A Dodge Ram was travelling west on Highway 1 and waiting to turn left onto 30 Street N.E. The truck turned left without yielding and crashed into an east bound Ford Fusion. The impact sent the Ford into two pedestrians who were waiting at the intersection for the “walk” signal.

The driver of the Dodge was uninjured, the driver of the Ford had minor injuries and the two pedestrians were taken to Salmon Arm Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Dodge was ticketed for failing to yield.
