UPDATE: Sahali housing complex catches fire

KAMLOOPS – Kamloops Fire Rescue responded to a blaze today at a duplex in Spencer Court on 1580 Summit Dr.

No serious injuries resulted from the fire. Two residents were taken to the hospital. One occupant was treated for a minor injury and the other went for a precautionary checkup.

Chris Burnham, acting platoon captain says the fire was extinguished at 12:30 p.m.

"Fire crews did a quick attack and kept the fire to one unit," Burnham says. 

Suppression crews have left and fire prevention is now on scene investigating the cause of the blaze.

Burnham says Kamloops Fire Rescue responded with 14 fire fighters and four trucks.
