PENTICTON – A woman who reported her car stolen to Penticton RCMP last week has hopefully learned a couple of lessons from the incident.
Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says a woman told RCMP her 1988 Chevy Caprice was stolen from her ome on Arnott Place on Sept. 28.
The woman said she had picked up a hitchhiker while moving from Vancouver to Greenwood and left the man to sleep in her vehicle overnight, he says. She told police she awoke to find her two sets of car keys, her car and all her possessions gone. She told police the thief was probably heading to Calgary.
Wrigglesworth says police spotted the car in Lake Country later in the week with the rightful owner behind the wheel. The woman explained she had gotten her car back but neglected to let the RCMP know.
