Police say fatal Metro Vancouver shooting was targeted, release victim ID
NEW WESTMINSTER, B.C. – Police say the shooting death of a 32-year-old man in New Westminster Thursday was targeted.
Sgt. Jennifer Pound of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has identified the victim as Sam Balani.
She says Balani was renting the basement suite where his body was found when police responded to a call of shots being fired.
Pound says investigators spent the night processing the crime scene and can confirm the killing was a targeted hit.
No arrests have been made and police are asking for tips from anyone with information about the killing.
