Parti Quebecois MNA Bernard Drainville to resign from politics: source
QUEBEC – Parti Quebecois house leader Bernard Drainville will announce his political resignation Tuesday.
A source tells The Canadian Press the former Radio-Canada journalist will host a radio show for Quebec City station FM93.
Drainville, 53, has been a member of the legislature since 2007 and is best known for introducing the former PQ government’s doomed secular values charter.
He recently said he wouldn’t be joining the race to replace Pierre Karl Peladeau as the party’s permanent leader.
Peladeau resigned abruptly in May, citing family reasons.
