New parks for Juniper West

KAMLOOPS – The Juniper West neighbourhood is growing rapidly, and the City of Kamloops would like to share how the neighbourhood's parks and trail system are shaping up.

In 2017, two new parks will be built — Juniper West Park at 1920 Qu’Appelle Boulevard and a small dog park at 1855 Qu'Appelle Boulevard. The dog park will also function as a detention pond for stormwater.  Once the housing development is closer to completion, a third park will be built. The eastern section of the Gas Line Trail has already been completed, and the remainder of this trail will be phased in as residential development continues toward the west.

The City of Kamloops will complete detailed design work for Juniper West Park over the winter of 2016/2017, and construction will start in spring 2017.  The park will feature a large grassed picnic area, a playground, a paved perimeter trail, and a lookout with spectacular views of the river valley.
