Races, mazes, zombies and more in Kelowna this weekend
KELOWNA – Whether you want to run in a circle, run around a maze or just sip some good wine, Kelowna is the place to be this Thanksgiving long weekend.
Two of Kelowna’s biggest corn mazes opened to the public Oct. 1. Kelowna Corn Maze on Valley Road and McMillan Farms on Bernard Avenue offer acres of confusing fall fun.
The Kelowna Corn Maze runs from 1 p.m. until 11 p.m. Monday to Friday and 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.
McMillan Farms has a three-acre corn maze as well as hayrides, a slingshot, petting zoo and a bale maze for kids. They are open 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday to Wednesday and 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.
The annual Fall Okanagan Wine Festival is happening at various wineries around Kelowna both Saturday and Sunday starting at noon. This event is for anyone who loves good wine and good food in breathtaking settings.
If you see dead bodies wandering around downtown this weekend, don’t worry it’s the annual Kelowna Zombie Walk Saturday starting at 4 p.m. The walk starts at Spirit Halloween on Leon Avenue.
This weekend is also the BMO Okanagan Marathon. On Saturday and Sunday morning, athletes will run in either a 42.2 kilometre marathon, a 21.1 km half marathon or a 10 km or 5 km event. There will also be a kids activity centre and 1 km fun run.
