Free online Okanagan carpool service
OKANAGAN – The City of Vernon is encouraging residents to consider carpooling for their daily commute during Okanagan Carpool Week, Oct. 17 to 21.
Drivers that travel alone lose out on the opportunity to keep up to 25 per cent of their car costs in their savings account. Driving alone costs a typical Canadian driver about $25 per day according to the Canadian Automobile Association—that’s $9,000 per year. Imagine sharing those costs by carpooling and adding more than $2,200 into a savings account every year.
Driving alone in the winter months can be tiring and stressful. Register online to find a carpool partner to feel safer and save money. And, this month drivers have a chance to win free fuel cards just by registering, filling out a survey or updating their information.
