Kelowna man arrested for stabbing on Bernard Avenue
A Kelowna man was arrested late last night after stabbing a resident on Bernard Avenue. The victim only suffered minored injuries and was treated at Kelowna General Hospital. The 24-year-old attacker is now in custody and facing assault charges.
The RCMP received the report just after 12 p.m. last night when someone complained about a threatening looking man waving a knife around the corner of Bernard Avenue and Highland Drive. Police arrested the man when they arrived on scene and recovered the knife he used to stab a nearby resident in the 1300 block of Bernard Avenue.
Police say the victim knew his attacker.
The man in custody will appear in the Kelowna Provincial Court today for charges of assault with a weapon, and using a weapon for dangerous purposes.
